What is this thing called
“Pilates” which is so often mentioned in connection with celebrities?
Well, there are several variations
of Pilates principles, ranging from those that Joseph Pilates pioneered in the early 1900s to contemporary adaptations that incorporate modern understanding of fitness, anatomy
and biomechanics.
But is it just a fashionable fad or is it something
that could help you?
Well, it certainly is fashionable and the reason is, it works!
Pilates can transform people who are wonky,
slumped and jiggly (or any combination thereof!) into taller-looking, poised, toned gods and goddesses.
The
key to this miraculous transformation lies in intelligent exercise, perseverance (sorry, no quick fixes)
… oh, and a good teacher of-course!
What to expect? Well, you don’t need any special footwear for it and you can do it in a pair of shorts or loose
trousers, a t-shirt and a fleece.
Pilates can be taught lying down, sitting (on a chair, on a ball) or standing. This makes it accessible even to people
who have restricted movement and, indeed, Pilates is the exercise of choice for most rehabilitation.
